Alex Wright is a writer and communications professional who has dedicated the last two decades of his career to storytelling and conveying the impact of philanthropic engagement, specifically in the healthcare sector. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California before embarking on the first phase of his career in the branding and packaging design field. Eventually, he felt a calling to more “mission driven” work and transitioned to philanthropy.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, though now living in the California foothills, Alex loves the coastal environment. He and his wife call the island of Kauai their “home away from home.” Together the two own a small confection company, Crack’d Toffee Company, which has been recognized as a Five Star Master Chocolatier by the International Chocolate Salon. It is one of several family connections to the world of food and culture.
Alex is the proud father of two adult sons and a daughter-in-law. When not traveling, podcasting or enjoying sunsets off his deck, Alex enjoys a number of seeming strange projects. He is currently restoring an antique classic red English telephone booth.
