Community Activism
Throughout history, bars have been places for community gathering, even more so for historically marginalized groups. For women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities, bars were safe havens where people were able to relax, connect, and advocate for change. This year, our fundraiser and exhibit was all about these unique community gathering spaces and how they spark change.
Professional Development
Mindfulness, Community & Food
At Kent Denver, we took a different approach to professional development and turned our attention to the moment. Too often we try to be mindful only on special occasions, and we never really pause to be in the present with our friends, colleagues and strangers and connect on a deeper level. Our event featured memory conversations, hands-on cooking activities, and uproarious laughter!

Stone Soup
We hosted our inaugural fundraising event in the winter of 2021. More than 80 guests gathered at the Washington Street Community Center in West Washington Park in Denver to learn more about the Museum and our plans for the future. Read more about the event here.
Variety Hour
Food & Your Senses
From buttery popcorn to sour lemons, food engages all of our senses. In a virtual variety hour, we played with our senses and learned more about flavor and taste. Read more about the program here.

In November 2020, we launched our first program focused on one the core fruits in American food identity: apples. From mythology to baking, we explored how apples show up in our history and culture.
